To see ‘Paris’ and win a medal: you can do it! Every summer, the village of Parizh (named after Paris), located in the Nagaybaksky district of Chelyabinsk Region, hosts a half marathon run. The run starts and finishes by the local Eiffel Tower. This landmark of the village is a 1:6 replica of the iconic French structure and serves as a cell tower.
By the way, Chelyabinsk Region has several villages named after cities in Europe. There is a Varna, a Leipzig, a Berlin... Ural Cossacks gave these names to their villages after returning from their victorious campaign against Napoleon in Europe.
